You must colour it Melissa L Withington Whitford replies: "Thank you! I'll think about coloring it, maybe over Christmas break. In fact I'm starting to recognize how much color and context add to a picture. I love your work - you have quite an eye for color."

I like the youthful crispness of this picture, though the chest is too defined and the foot could be a little more cleaned up. The other one is beautiful in that it looks more like a natural creature. The expression is also more genuine. The different elements of the other picture seem to fit together better, though I find the darker line art in this one refreshing....The funny thing is, though, that I like the bald guy because he's facing the left. Does that seem wierd to you? I guess it has something to do with how all the different parts of the picture fit together. Melissa L Withington Whitford replies: "I don't think it's strange that you should think that the elements of the bald guy fit together better, because he is, after all, the first one I drew. I drew this guy on the flip side of the paper to see what he would look like with hair, and it turned out to look like a different person completely."

The pose feels very right for a birdlike creature, like he made a sudden stop and needs to flap around a bit before turning (some big birds can't just stop and turn in a snap if they have enough momentum, and a winged person ought to be quite similar). It makes him feel very, alive, like a moving picture. Good job! //Charadas Melissa L Withington Whitford replies: "Thanks! Cool observation about big birds. I wasn't really thinking about it at the time, but I was using a swan as a reference."
