Hey!!! My name is Arianna. I am a 13 year old and I love horseback-riding! My drawing talents are horses and dragons. I live on a 15 acre farm, w/ 18 animals ( 6 of them being horses) :D I got my drawing talent from my sister, she is 23 and is in college. I started out drawing block-like horses, then gradually moved into more detail. I only began drawing dragons at the beginning of this year (2008), maybe February. I'm not even sure why I started to draw them, I just drew a dragon one day, and decided I liked it. :) My picture isn't just any horse if you're wondering. It is the great Barbaro! He is my favorite racehorse of all time! For those who don't know, Barbaro was a great champion. He won the 2006 Kentucky Derby and many, many other races. He then moved on to the Preakness Stakes. Many people thought he would get the Triple Crown, and I also believe he would have , too. But on that day, Barbaro had a false start, he went through the starting gate before everyone else because someone closed another horse's gate twice. Barbaro thought it was a click to start so he busted out of his gate. It didn't look like anything was wrong so they loaded him back. Then the race began for real! Barbaro was doing fine Then his jockey heard a crack. His seat didn't feel much differnent, but he knew something had happened because the crowd gasped. Barbaro had fractured his leg. Many screw were put in his leg to put the chips of bone back together, I don't even remember how many! He was doing fine until he got a disease in a couple of his other hooves called laminitis. It was from too much weight being put on a certain foot. Eventually, he was just in too much pain, and was put down. But he was a fighter, and a sweety. Any one who loves horses would get caught up in his story! I have his Breyer (figurine) and Limited Edition Kentucky Derby stuffed animal!!!!! And my favorite, a photo of him winning the derby signed by his jockey, Edgar Prado.!!!! Important Date: - May 3 : Kentucky Derby 134!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO! Go Big Brown!!! He won the Derby!!! Poor Eight Belles. :( She came in second place, then soon after collapsed cuz her ankles. she was put down right on the track. </li></li></li></li></li></li>

Bantz | Nope, I don’t have any horses (unfortunately ) But someday perhaps, but for now I don’t think, my parents would really enjoy having to pay the heaps of money involved with horses and such. The barn I work at has a foal that was born on April Fools too! He hit his first birthday  I can’t imaging having to part with my horse (if I had one). I usually ride english, when I’m riding western i feel so lazy, just sitting in the saddle >.< Thats just me lol  Arianna Larka Louise replies: "like you said, maybe someday. at least you get to work with them, though. i couldnt imagine life without them. lol, ill try english sometime. ive always rridden western." | |
| 1 May 2008 |  Christina L. Bantz | Yes, I am so glad I get to be around them. It seems like I’ve always been around horses, even though i’ve only worked at the barn for a little over a year. I didn’t like english when I first tried it, its so different from Western riding, but it’s grown on me

She broke her two front ankles and was euthanized on the track minutes later!!!! WAHHHH thats so sad!
