This is another pecil study of mine which was inspired by the work of Josephine Wall (for those of you not familliar with her work, I urge you to check it out!). In the picture a mage, or sourcerer, or enchantress (take your pick!) is holding a magical orb, or crystal ball like object, inside which there are many swirling colours that clash together as they do battle. This orb contains a special type of magic which is being released in swirls from it and into the world.

I am quite pleased with this, as hands are not a speciality of mine. My only problem with this is that the photo is not as clear as the original drawing, meaning that some of the detail is less visible.

Cool! I like the long sleeve (I’m guessing of a robe) it looks very realistic. Overall I like the piece and I can’t wait to see more of your work!

i like this drawing, the mystery involved with that orb. the only thing which i can see doesn’t look quite right is the thumb closest to us, i think it comes up to high and doesn’t quite curve corrrectly - i can’t really talk as i cant draw hands very well but just thought i’d point this out for you. you said that hands are not a speciality of yours though i think you have made a good attempt with it - when i first went to look at this drawing i couldn’t see the magic around the orb, i was plesently suprised when i saw it in full!
