Heather Alycia LaPeer See below for my background, this is important for when you see my work.
- These are not excuses, I am more apologizing for the lack of backgrounds and such on my pieces, or the bad techniques when you see my first attempts at this or that, I am simply asking you to bear with me :)
- I don't have very much time for my fantasy pieces now that I am working on observational drawing techniques, and learning many different media in order to complete my portfolio
- I have had no formal art training since elementary school
- Because my main goal is improving my work, I request the following of all of you, love!
Here's the deal when you're viewing my work. Please comment what you liked or didn't like. If you say "You Suck!" I am likely to ignore you, however, if the post was "your proportions were off, check the knee and hip level, and your features are too high on the face." I might actually listen, and my work might improve, all because of you. If you are approving of my work, feel free to say its great, but if you would also say what you liked, I might be able to use that part more in other pieces, and that might really help me :) thanks. |

| 15 May 2008 | John R Farley Jr | Welcome to Elfwood! Thanks for visiting my page, you’re off to a great start yourself. Heather Alycia LaPeer replies: "Thanks. Most of this stuff (except some of the mer, and the unicorn without the bg, and Helen) are pretty old, so I’m putting some newer pieces on soon. Thanks also for all the great advice." | |
| 22 May 2008 | Mira Rokala | I love your work! You are really talented with colors! Portrait of Helen is my favorite, I think... Four versions, and every one of them looks a bit different every time I look at it (As you may find out after reading my comment on it ) Heather Alycia LaPeer replies: "thanks" | |

| 20 Jul 2008 | Michigan Girl | Hi, this has nothing to do with your work, which is beautiful, but are you aware that there’s a town in Michigan called LaPeer Michigan? I grew up there. Just thought you’d like to know, a little interesting tidbit. Heather Alycia LaPeer replies: "yes, I am aware, my uncle, Ken LaPeer, lived in Lapeer michigan (lowercase p) on Lapeer street, funny huh? And it was not on purpose, they just liked the house!" | |
| 31 Jul 2008 | Michigan Girl | Yeah, I wasn’t sure if it was a lower case or not, I moved away when I was nine & couldn’t remember. I lived on Elba rd. Does your uncle know where that is? Anyway, I love your Phoenix Rising picture the best, keep up the good work! | |
| 15 Aug 2008 | Vlad N. Dayvof | Really like your Phoenix (is that spelt right...?) rising picture and your Japanese dragon one. And the tail on Emperor angel Mer. Awesome stuff. Heather Alycia LaPeer replies: "Thank you, I always thought my phoenix was a little bit sloppy and I put it on because the coloring is fun, but people seem to really like it. I love the japanese dragon. I have about 5 more dragons part way done I should put up....." | |
