This poem is about an immortal being. Yet everytime she is reborn, she gets infected. Every life she has ever had has been filled with pain and sickness yet she never fails to be reborn.

Tears and rage

welled up inside,

held back by the fear,

the fear of letting go,

letting go of the past,

the past,

the pain,

the memories,

held forever,

for eternity

till the sorrow is too much,

when pain makes her give in,

give in when all systems fail.

For the disease has begun,

it’s broken down her system,

making her bleed,

bleed from the inside out.

Her corrupted mind,

it holds too much,

too much for her,

shaking her body

till it explodes

and she is reborn again.

16 Jun 2004	Emma Lydia Bates	Loading... No comment for such a good poem? This is very powerful and very sad. I found it a bit upsetting! The idea that whatever she does, she can't escape, and when she cries, it just all happens over again...
