Recent Updates

26 October 07 ~ Deleted a whole bunch of OLD and crappy things, because it was old and crappy and I feel like actually using my Elfwood shelf now, therefore~ spring cleaning, wai.

Stuff's gone up to replace the missing bits, tho. Silent Harmony is being rewritten, and the new prologue and first two chapters are on Elfwood. The rest can be read at the yrae LiveJournal community--members only, just join and you'll be able to read it =3

Bouquet is set in Kazin, the kingdom up north of Raykin. They're primarily tropical with cooler mountains in the south that are forested with gum trees. They have their own culture, their own very pervasive religion that plays a part Bouquet, and the story itself features an assassin with a pair of kris daggers running around in the afforementioned gum trees. See, now I'd class that as fantasy. It's set in the same world as SH, even has minor appearances of some of the same characters, but apparently SH makes the cut, but Bouquet will never make it onto Elfwood.

Therefore, I really can't be stuffed with Elfwood anymore. I dunno how long I've had an account here, must be since at least 2000, but the whole defining fantasy thing has just been grating far too much, and with that and the addition of advertising, I'm out. Check out bloogum or the yrae LiveJournal if you want to read anything more of my stuff.

'Ello, ladies and gents =D I'm Annarti, early 20s Aussie girl with much love for the desert and swords, hence the two come together as often as I can manage in my writings X3 Everything here is set in Tsyllaes, primarily the red desert kingdom of Raykin with a few forays into Kazin.

I'd recommend starting with Silent Harmony, the story that introduces all the major characters best. It's currently going through a rewrite, because I was sick of all the crappiness and the near-complete lack of planning in the version that was previously posted here. But this version is better! I like this version! At the moment. Gimme a coupla years and I'll want to rewrite this one, too, but for now~ it's going well.

The obligatory link list
Alyssa R George ~ Undoubtably my favourite author on Elfwood <3 She has the most intriguing characters, and her style is just fantastic. I have so much envy for her humour in particular. Caius and Morgant own j00, as does Schiri >3 Also, Lorannon is mine. Hands off.
Dave Edwards ~ This boi can draw. Really bloody well. Lookit, he even drew me Yan~ *^^* And he's been leaving the best constructive critisism, seriously X) Go~ lookit the pritti piccies~~ *___*

I love your style of writing- it's very descriptive and interesting without being too flowery. Major kudos! I read in your short bio that you liked desert fantasy, and I was thinking that you might like the books "Don't Bite the Sun," "Drinking Sapphire Wine," and "The Black Unicorn," all by Tanith Lee. Anyway, awesome work!

:-) Anna ´Annarti´ Thomas replies: "Thankyouthankyouthankyou I love you forever! *^^* Definitely have to check the library for that now XD Thanks again~!"

Don't know if you're interested or not, but I thought I'd fill you in anyway.

It's now my holidays. I have a lot of free time on my hands. So I'm hosting the 1st annual Elfwood Awards on my page. Come and check it out, and get involved.

Good luck!

:-) Anna ´Annarti´ Thomas replies: "Ooh, sounds like a plan =D Thankuu!"

Draaa...
Can you believe Trish Bunny Saw didn't know who you were? She knows Alyssa George, but not one of the three most talented Aussie elfwooders!

:-) Anna ´Annarti´ Thomas replies: "Pfft, I'm hardly as talented/well known as Alyssa X3;; Honoured you think that tho XD"

We're having a party on Tim's page tomorow to welcome him back. I'm inviting everyone even the KAGS, Dark Siders are a given. There will also be a few playful battles for entertainment. Don't forget to bring some food, decorations have been seen to.

Oh and I almost forgot! Do bring any pets you have with you. But most of all... HAVE FUN!!!

:-) Anna ´Annarti´ Thomas replies: "Tomorrow as in~ last Monday? Oops, my bad ^^;;"

YraeAnna, how is ya?

School's back!!! Ugh, I can feel the depression sinking in already as summer ends and the days get colder.

Really loving the yrae chronicles. One of the better stories on the site. Thanks for posting. Now, I just need to know if I should be begging at you or your beta readers to get 10+11 to show up faster.

:-) Anna ´Annarti´ Thomas replies: "That'd be me =3; I just need to code them and stick 'em in the queue ^^ It's just the coding... *shudder* I hate coding~ .-.;"

*waves* 'Ello! Any particular points of interest for me to look at/start with here? I noticed some pieces are a good 3/4 years old now, so I thought I'd ask before I dig into them and rip up things you've already fixed. ^-~

As always not entirely sure when I'll get to reading (a whole lot) but that is the plan. Though, I might stay away from the unfinished novels for a while. I've still got a few of them left, so we'll see if I get around to juggling it all or not. ^-^;;

:-) Anna ´Annarti´ Thomas replies: "'Ello 'ello =3 They're all kinda getting on a bit, aren't they? Mrr... I would say Silent Harmony purely because it explains everything first up. The earlier chapters tho... They're old. I look back on them and CRINGE, because there's so much I've skipped over or not explained well enough or characters who didn't get properly introduced. That said, I somehow fluked a Mod's Choice for chapter one, so I dunno, can't be all bad. I hope. *pokes it with a barge pole*

The Own fic is still my favourite, but it was written for friends who already know all the guys in it, so not entirely self-contained. Should still make sense to read it, especially since you know all about Kazin from Bouquet, but you may have a question or two unanswered.

Everything else is short and OLD or long and OLD and I really need to clean this place out. Project for the evening, methinks."

*cackles and points to the mini-story spree* You cannot take the reading of those stories away from me now!

(Add to that that I'm currently still debating whether I should start new-new novel length things, because shorter pieces allow me to actually breathe when looking at my reading list. It's nice when you can look at three dozen pieces and say 'well, they're not all book-length'. *burble* Depends on how long the chapters are in and of themselves. I should complain less. I'd get more things read. ^-~)

I shall (attempt to) read the The Own tale next time around. It stopped raining! Have to capitalise on the moment and make a run for the busstop. ^-~ And then I have to write too...

Ooo, desert pieces! *Scrambles to get comfortable before reading. Desert seems to be my favorite setting for placing books as well. I currently have two novels and one short story placed in a desert, but only two are up on EW.

After that little ramble .... hello. *waves* nice to meet you. I'm just ambling around on elfwood, looking for more people to make aquaintances with and some more great stuff to read.

Aww I’m sorry you’re not posting here anymore. But I can understand; the advertising has gotten a little pervasive.
