This was basically an excuse to practise drawing hands, and I tried my hardest to shade them (which is a HUGE problem area for me).

It's up to you whether you are using these (your) hands to conjure a diamond, or perhaps you are using a diamond in order to conjure something else.

Very nice. Maaaaajor kudos. Practice makes perfect, and with a little more work, you'll be right there. Very nicely done.

Oooh Oooh Oh OH Ooooh! HANDS!!!!!!! You draw hands that are pimp! My hands suck skunk scrodes... you are master hand drawer person. *worship you* I love the position they are in. So cool! They don't look stiff at all.. Kudos AND cookies! =)

Hands are definately one of the more difficult things to draw and i've noticed in many of your drawings you like to do what i do: Make them way too small in proportion to the body. These hands are pretty outstanding/amazing. I personally think the left looks better than the right (its odd, i have trouble drawing the back of the hand). You've done very well on the shading, but i think you should be a little bolder; dont be afraid of dark shadows. You've got a nice gallery here and i look forward to seeing more from you!

:-) Natalie K. Tapley replies: "Thankyou very much! You are right, I too think that the left is better than the right- I did it first, so I think that I was feeling more like "YEAH! I'm gonna do this!" when I did that one. Plus I found the lighting on the right hand a little harder. Thanks for the constructive criticism, I am hearing you! Thanks so much for the lovely comment."

I like them, but I think that the light seems to come from different ways on the different hands. The left one seems to be lit from the left, while the right one seems to be lit more from the front.

:-) Natalie K. Tapley replies: "They are both meant to be lit from a mixture between the left and the front, and I can see that they don't look exactly right- I live and learn! Thanks!"
