There were warm spring nights when few dared to go out and then only for short distances. The sprites were emerging from their slow-moving watery birthplaces and they swarmed at night, looking like all the stars come to ground. Their will-o-wisping displays were mesmerizing, confusing and lured travelers off the path at best and to watery graves at worst. It was not so perilous closer to the towns; the lights and noise muted the effect. Still, meetings and events were not well attended since the people who lived furthest away tended to stay home. Master Faestus found that the sprites could not shake him off course. His children were the only ones who lived any distance from the town who never missed an evening's dance class.

It's cute. So precious. Brings tears of joy and pride come to my eyes. Wish my baby's father was this caring.. :') I love it! Well done! Curious, though, if the children's mother is a... um, crap! forgot the words... is she goat/human or horse/human like the daddy? Centaur and what? Hmmmm. Oh, well. 19D

:-) Natasha Dahlberg replies: "Dad is a centaur. Mum is a satyr. These kids are satyrs. You don't really want me to go into detail on how their genetics work, do you? Naw, I thought not. It's magic, that's all. =)"

This picture has such an enchanting feel to it! The deep blues and purples... I love how all the little lights make it stretch back in distance like it could go back for miles. Wonderfull job!

to clarify for serena, it would be kind of rough on a satyr mum to give birth to centaur babies. Anyhoodles, very sweet. the dad looks like Tolkien to me. I don't know why.
