| 23 Nov 2002 | Scott A. F. Pfliger | Loading...*a thud is heard...he collects his jaw from the desk* De....de...detail...how can you do all of those scales without loosing your patience??? Natalie Jo Bagby replies: "Thank you for your comments, Scott. How's your jaw? *grins* As far as scales go... well, it's simple. I can't. I hate doing scales." | |
| 31 Aug 2003 | Danielle Lynne Jones | Loading...Wow, i have one question though, how do you do the celtic knotwork? I love the stuff and can't draw it to save my life, the closest thing i have is some odd celtic/tribal hybrid.... Natalie Jo Bagby replies: "My suggestion, Danielle, is to go to your local library and check out a book on the mechanics of knotwork. It's really very simple, if tedious and time consuming, once you've got the basics down. If you were here, in person, I could show you how I do it, but over the internet it's not quite so easy. Though, I do have an image of three scaned pictures put together of a.. well, almost a tutorial, but with no words, just the images. Maybe I should make it into a tutorial some day." | |
| 31 Aug 2003 | Laura | Loading...This is simply an awesome picture, one of the best swords I've seen in Elfwood. Amazing detail, and I love the dragon twisting around it. Brilliant. Natalie Jo Bagby replies: "Thanks Laura, I really appreciate the comment." | |
| 1 Sep 2003 | Tuan Taurëo | Loading...Interesting combination of historical elements in there ... you've caught the basic shape of an English longsword in the hilt very well, and the celtic ornamentation is nothing short of breathtaking. Great detail for a great pic! Natalie Jo Bagby replies: "Thank you for your comments, Tuan. Scottish Claymore, Celtic ornamentation, and Oriental type dragon. That little dragon is the best Oriental type I've ever done. And I do believe the sword is one of the only I've ever done. I should work on another one.. Hmmm... " | |
| 2 Sep 2003 | Isa | Loading...A wonderful creative display. Hope to see more. Natalie Jo Bagby replies: "Thanks for the comment, Isa." | |
| 15 Mar 2004 | Alexander J. Harron | Loading...I like it a lot: no flamboyant spikey bits, no weird shapes, just an effective and lethal design. Good choice on the Claymore, everyone knows it's easily the greatest sword in the world... Natalie Jo Bagby replies: "Odd thing about me, Alexander, is that I can't seem to stand flamboyant spikey bits or weird shapes in my swords. It's gotta be a sword that's functional, or I'm not fond of it. I've got a couple real swords, myself, and several daggers and knives. Blades that aren't functional are one of my pet peeves. Thanks for the comments, by the way. Now I'm planning another of these swords." | |
