Tag As FavoriteComment		deep inside i have a cold dark place, its the only dark that i dont find comfort in. its the dark that i have to work so hard to stay out of, or crawl out of. it seems its mostly crawling out and slipping back these days.

just an artistic representation of my depression drawn in the hopes, that like any other emotion, i might be rid of it once i release it to paper.

let it be known that i love the darkness. if find comfort in its presance. the cold bitter darkness, however, is strangling. often i find myself completely submitting to it. that is depression for me, submitting to the bitter cold dark place.
*Done with normal mech pencil, nothing else*

That describes my feelings concerning depression myself. Now if I had half the passion you do when it comes to drawing... Now I am dreaming hopeless dreams *laughs* Is her face stitched up to represent something? Maybe how she had to be remade a few times?

Summers replies: "thanks. honestly her face is stitched up because i thought it looked empty. and her left hand is a stub because i couldnt get it right. perhaps her stitched mouth represents how much it hurts to talk about it. i actually have anxiety and depression dreams a lot. they usualy include my body falling apart in a grotesque morbid heap. ^_^"

Wow, that is really cool. The only thing that I really can say that it needs would be more depth...more of a contrast between the tenticals and the fairy kitty pet thing ^.^ Graded pencils are great...heh come to think of it I should take my own advise. ::blushes as she looks back at her own work::

:-) Nathaniel S. Summers replies: "thanks! I tried to put as much contrast into this piece as I could. I worked on it for days and days and days and I was allways, and still am, a little dissapointed with the lack of contrast. I then became afraid of ruining it if I kept fiddling with it. I may do another version of this in pen some day... if I ever get that depressed again."

Now... i was about to say Wow... but i dont think even that can explain the effect this picture has on me. It was well done to say the least. Perhaps it would look better if inked or colored? :21its and stares a while longer::

*sigh8 i agree totaly as i myself get depressed alot and i kno if i crawl away from it, it grabs me and pulls me under

while every one around me keeps me that way

any way...I know for a fact u will excape it

well done on the detail and the style it facinating
and totaly true..I wish i could draw a picture of depression too obviously wont be as good as wat u could do
