My muse was torturing me again, with images of feathered dragons. they only seemed logical, i mean with all those extravagant colors and the way the behaved, they must have been warm blooded. so i figured feathers were in order. the here dragon lives in dense forests and with its serpentine body and short legs it can move through the treetops with speed faster than some of the fastest land dwelling animals. in the forests of the world this creature is king.

Awesome! I envy your patience to do such detail! The only detailed things I ever do are for the schools lessons *wishes upon a star for patience* Awesome colours <3 it!

Ooo very good, the colors go together so well ^.^ one little thing though (just me with nothing to do 14) the dragon might look a little more realistic if you do some more shading near the mouth, to make lips or mouth muscles, or even gums behind there, it'll make it look more realistic
But anyway, very good all together, absolutely LOOVE the feather idea, very original ^.^

:-) Nathaniel S. Summers replies: "Thanks, I agree. I never could get the shading right around the face... I didn't want to crowd it with feathers but I didn't want it to look so flat either... I got stuck with cartooney. @.@"

I am always intrigued bvy drawings that promise a story...

It looks gorgeous! I really love the detail on the scales and feathers, and the colours you've used (especially the shifting colours on the dragon's belly) I imagine he's very well-camouflaged in the forest.

Awsome dragon. I, too, have invented my own type of feathered dragon. I can’t seem to be able to post a picture anywhere, so I’ll keep my pictures to myself for a while.

The shading on the feathers and varied colors makes it looked jeweled. I like the classic pose too.
