| 15 Apr 2004 | Crystal 'Kitty' Tosi | Loading...Gahh! I am in love with this O_O;; The only thing that seems funny to me is: 1. The ear 2. The nose Otherwise it is wonderful. I suspect my problem with the ear is it is in a funny position that I wouldn't expect from a cat, more of a dog, and that the does not have the normal shape of a cat ear. It could just be you were tryin' to mix human with cat in the ear situation. Concerning the nose, I love the muzzleness, but the nose it's self just seems so weird to me. I will have to come back and stare at this come time in hopes that I will figure out my problem with it. As said before, it is wonderful. A very touching piece. I particularily like those nice nail-like things. A form of armor I suspect? Nathaniel S. Summers replies: "thanks! yeah that ear was an attempt at combining the two. and that nose makes him look like a stuffed toy. i am glad you liked it!" | |

| 3 Jul 2004 | Kevin Smith | Loading...This is really good. The armour is amazing and I can't imagine beginning to make something like that. The creature is imaginatively made and after searching for something to tell you needed work, I came up with the fact that the ear looks a bit like it hasn't been worked on very much. Maybe it could be better, maybe. Nathaniel S. Summers replies: "Thanks! This is actually a very simple drawing when you get down to it. I simply started with his head and slowly added everything else. Most of it was done on whim. The shading was quick and uninvolved. You would be right to mention the ear, it was not easy to get the way I wanted so I left it how it was and shaded it just as hastily as the rest. This would be one of those pieces that turns out well only because the artist did not dwell on it for too long. I let my pencil do all the work. ^_^" | |
| 25 Jul 2004 | Mandy Elliott | Loading...Yes... as a cat lover those nose a bit too long. Even for a lion. And if its a male Lion, their features arent so strong, more soft, more skin/fur so to speak. The ear, as a lion, should be a bit more rounded at the end, shorter, and perked up but tilted slightly off to the side. But the armor and everything else is well done. Even his expression. Only other suggestion i would recomend would be stronger shading in him, to bring him out because i almost didnt see that it was armor. or maybe thats my eyes...o.o | |

What I think he's thinking - Score!! I got the last teddy bear at Toys 'R' Us!! *getting ready to dance*
*coughs* Alright, now that that's out of my system... this is awesome! I particularly like his wings. | |
| 21 Dec 2004 | K. ´Karahatay´ Fink | Loading...You know, despite what Mandy Elliot said (nothing against her) I rather like what you've drawn. I think that the sharper features where perhaps there shouldn't have been say something about the character, something that is inline with his armour. Perhaps I shouldn't do this, but what I see is a warrior who, caught up in a moment of forgetfulness of whatever he's been up to that has him wearing armour and looking so gaunt (for a lion) and defined, is thinking fondly of chilhood memories, rather than percieving them as something painful that he could never possibly return to. Personally, I think there is a lot in this drawing. as for not seeing the shading, that could be a gamma issue with a certain monitor - an issue I have in my gallery. | |
