Well, this goes along with a basic concept in paleontology. A fossil isn't a fossil unless it's found. This is an awestruck discoverer of the amber entrapped fairy. Done using Poser 4, Spatch and compressed mesh. Rendered in POVray 3.5.

I love this. ^_^ You have an excellent sense of perspective and foreshortening, as evidenced by the hand/arm. I like the glow in the woman's eyes, and the mystic, watery effect of the amber. Beautifully done.

I cant believe you dont have any more comments on this yet! This would have to be my favorite piece in your gallery. Proportion is great. Use of colours fantastic. Shading and use of light is excellent. I love this piece theme overall. I've never seen it done before and you've captured the atmosphere artistically as well as magically. Well done!

Is this the same faerie? Why isn't she glowing anymore? I'm way too demanding...

:-) Nathan Neil Phillips replies: "Yes, this is the same faerie. I just gave it a different angle and changed the amber a bit. The glow from the first one wasn't included because I rendered this one in POVRay 3.5 whic doesn't support glows(I haven't perfected using media yet)."

The fairy, changed LOL. This doesn't look too relistic. It's so fake.

Good picture. I personally believe that using the POSER program is pretty much cheating, as far as digital artworks goes. But I am willing to excuse that fact you used it, mostly because the idea behind the picture is so original and brilliant. I'm impressed. Good Job.

If Escher isn't rolling backwards in his grave
like migrating geese farts, then he'd be wondering
how you would execute ice chunks for glasses
of vodka in commercial art. This fairy isn't in a
crystal globe, but trapped in a chunk of ice, frozen
for all eternity to the gleeful chagrin of an animated
ex-Ford test dummy.

Somehow I find this very sad. If I found something like that I'd probably cry. But it's a lovely idea!

I love the fairy's wings, they're really good.
