Korobokuru are a race of dwarf-like humanoids from the Oriental Adventures D&D setting. Anu is a Sohei monk and a master of the naginata, or long spear.

Made with Photoshop 7 using a Wacom Graphire 3 tablet.

Many thanks to the Elfwood moderators for this completely unexpected Mod's Choice. It's also my first successful Epilogue entry. So many more thanks to the people who supported and inspired me.

Yeah that whole shading comment. I'm an idiot. All of the shading I have looked at in your gallery is spot on, photo-realistic. Your ability to handle the skin tones makes me want to never try out computer art because I would break stuff when I couldn't do it as good. Another thing. All of the hands in your drawings are perfect. Anatomically, shading size everything. Amazing.

13 Francis RP Navarro replies: "I would hardly call my shading "photo-realistic." Most of the time they're just random soft brushstrokes with little regard for the light source(s). As for the hands, I used a digital camera and took a picture of my hand holding a pole on a mirror. That's the anatomy part. As for the skin tones, I just play it by ear (or hand) starting with the face. Just go ahead and try it, man."

I read alot of fantasy book. Most 'darker' then others. But in all of my book reading i have never pictured a dwarf like this. Its amazing how different our minds 'eye' shows us. I love it so lifelike! And alive!

Came to visit previous commentors from my gallery and I am impressed to see a mods! Good for you! I can't really argue with them, this is perhaps your best piece yet. Looking at the comments above, I would say you do color skin tones almost perfectly! (Hehe... Guys with big feet!) ;D

Wow. First time I've ever seen an Oriental dwarf. And lookit that-his weapon is bigger than he is! Nice detail on this piece.
