"Father Cedrik" by Nela Dunato

Fanart for my friend's novel "Izvršitelji nauma Gospodnjeg" (could be translated as "The Executors of the Lord's Intention"). This was originally painted in May for a show, but it was done over two nights in great haste, the background was horrible and I wanted to fix it before I upload it. Even though I planned to touch up the priest as well, I became bored with the image so I quit.

The novel is about vampires and a secret order of catholic priests who fight the forces of evil (including vampires). Unfortunately, some of them don't have problems with murdering innocent people for the "greater good", like the one in the picture.

Technical details:
Photoshop + tablet (first Genius, now Wacom) + 14 hours of work + some references for the axe and chainmail = 8300x11800 px huuuge image, it was printed as a 70x100 cm poster
