SciFi and Fantasy Art Shadowdancer by Nataliy Nirrael Klymenko

Night Vendiviel was a jewel of her wondering theatre, an actress, a singer and above all a magnificent blade dancer. She knew nothing but the intriguing life of traveling performer and wanted nothing else. Yet everything turned upside-down as she was kidnapped by one of her mad fans while performing at the city of Neverwinter. Time of happiness and insouciance was quickly replaced with anguish and despair. Against her will she becomes involved in the series of dark and somber events as a great plague outbursts in Neverwinter, her captor is slaughtered in a night raid and she herself is accused in his murder… Here she steps onto a path of deadly danger and suffering to cleanse her name of false accusations. Driven into the fight for the fate of plague ridden Neverwinter, she will learn to fight, she will learn to survive, she will learn to make her way through pain and fear. Only an enormous amount of unbelievable luck will bring her out victorious. Yet even the title and laurels of Hero of the Neverwinter will not ease the sorrow for the death of her best friend and the pain of unsuccessful first love. Driven by her sorrow and her broken heart Night will come in search of Death yet to be dragged into another deadly affair… Only the look into the Death’s face will remind her just how much she wants to live. And she will fight again, fight her way to freedom through fire and ice, through blood and suffering, through darkness and despair, through the cold hostility of Shadowar a plane of Shadows, where she will have to become a shadow herself in order to survive…Yet nothing happens without a reason, for each step she took on her dangerous and treacherous path brought her closer and closer to him. Her True Love, a man who gave reason to her entire life, a rebellious leader, a fearsome fighter, a half-demon with a pure and gentle heart, Valen Shadowbreath.

My new Neverwinter Nights character Night Vendiviel. She is a Bard/Rogue/Shadowdancer. Shadowdancer, in case you don’t know, is a person who may turn into a shadow at will, becoming completely invisible to her opponents. In this picture I wished to capture the moment of her turning to shadow.
This picture is Photoshop work with some refferences to the Poser model. And that katana is my very own 3D Max creation.
*looks up* WOW! That is probably my longest pic description ever!

11 May 2005	Chelsa L. Dagley	Loading... Beautiful, u captured the mood just right, and it was a good decision to put the story up, because before I read it I thought she was supposed to be a ghost. But once I read it I could see everything perfectly...very good claps Nataliy Nirrael Klymenko replies: "Thank you very much, Chelsa! I'm happy you like it. That fading effect was a torture to achieve. Most of the time it really wanted to appear as mrre scales on the left side of her face. But finaly it gave up and submitted to my will. But it was a very long and bloody fight ;p"
13 May 2005	Dallas Thane Perry	Loading... Absolutely incredible! I love the detail on the blade it is exquisite. I have always been fascinated with the Shadow Dancer and was really excited when D&D made a character class for it. I love the way she is blended into the background. Good Work!
