She was the sun shining upon the tomb of your hopes and dreams so frail

March - December MMIV, cloud photograph (taken by me) and (mechanical-) pencil and ink drawings put together and colored in photoshop. A year of hopes, dreams, fears, inspiration, tears, longing, nature, emotions and such in more or less the only piece I did this year. Much inspiration came from the beautiful background of the cover of HIM's Razorblade Romance. Thanks for a wonderful time. Oh and I forgot about the stars. The deep-space photograph behind the wings was taken by Tom Licha from the astroscopic labs. Tom kindly allowed me to use the photograph for this picture.

It looks like it must have taken you a very long time to do, but it's worth any amount of time that went into it. 7 Jan 2005	Marta Leonhardt	Loading... the romanian numbers around her gloria, what do they stand for? twelve is like on the clock on top, but the rest don't follow as I, II, III, IV... You know I've never liked HIM, but your picture makes his words beautiful. A very romantical, beautiful, dreamy piece of artwork. Jens Höffgen replies: "Thank you so much... Ehm and the numbers: They are just backwards. It's 12,11,10,...at least I hope so :-/...it's been long ago that I learned counting those letter-numbers."

It looks good with the organic pattern that meets up with the wings, I love snirkels Jens Höffgen replies: "Da, you said snirkels! Schnörkel. What is it in Swedish? I didn't think this word existed in other languages... The text is a poem. I'll let you know what it sais in the next letter I'll write to you."

She looks a bit like a madonna, especially with the gloria and the almost cross-like symbol at the top. Also because of the hands. As a small link it looks like to elves about to kiss each other And the cloudy background looks a lot like a letter as well, is it? You did a sketch with pencils first, or is it thoroughly photoshop? Jens Höffgen replies: "Hee there...mhm, this is what I've been doing...I'm so glad I've been doing something that leaves trails. This picture. That's good about drawing, hm? You can always see what you've been doing. Like a diary. I need that...but you know... It's pencil, ja. Several drawings. I wasn't able to put all of this into one drawing."

23 Dec 2005	Sohalia Talitha	Loading... When I first saw this picture I thought it was of two faces... then when i looked again it was an angel... were the two faces intentional? very pretty. Jens Höffgen replies: "No, that wasn't intended but I think I know what you mean."
