This is the residence of Gautlar the Green. I figured the old wizard needed a home and, well... this is how it turned out.
I don't draw backgrounds that often and I rarely do buildings, so I have to admit that it did turn out a bit askew but I kind of like it that way.

Wow cool. This picture must have taken ages.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Don't know why but I missed out on this comment the last time round. My apologies Brenna. You are right, it did take ages... "

Very architectually sound- a rare thing in drawings, sadly. I would like to say that your rendition of this is quite realistic- that's a good thing. Your brickwork is nicely detailed and the shading is supurb. Way to go!

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Thanks Arwen! It took the villagers five years to complete this castle, but it only took me a day or so. Afterwards my fingers were hurting but the strange thing is, the villagers didn't complain at all. Imaginary people is so much tougher then artists. "

This is so detailed! I love castles with towers, and this one is great!

Oh, did you know that when you try to highlight your coolies green writing with the mouse, the writing looks like its oozing? Very cool.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "I live to draw details... must be the reason why I was put on this earth or something. Never noticed the wrinting thing though but you are right, it does ooze. Thanks for the comment Deborah! "

'tis called a pulley (that thing out of the window on the tower, that is)

great job... and a great gallery altogether..I'm impressed.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Thank you for that piece of information Dehro (the pulley part) and thank you for the kind critisism too! I'm glad you liked my gallery. "

It's really good, you should make buildings more often 1
love this.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "It's way too time consuming, at least using my unprofessional technique. "

I love it, its hard to explain but it kinda is just almost too neat and too easy to look at, that sounds wierd right? Its great.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Thank you for those kind but confusing words. "

I'd really like to comment on this pic, but I think that everything that needs to be said has already been said. Maybe not... How the heck did you get your lines so perfectly crisp and neat? It's absolutly astounding, truly remarkable...*forces self to shut up*
It does not look askew to me, it looks perfect.

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "Well, first of all the original is somewhat larger in scale then this presentation. Second I use a really fine pencil. Perfect works for me, thank you! "

Aww man. Now I want to live there.

18 Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "I would too, but I’m told castles are cold places to live in. Apparantly they are difficult and expensive to keep warm, not to mention drafty. "

One word: Great!
All of your art is really great, but i love all kind of landscapes and buldings. And this castle is so fantastic with all the details! Once again: great!3

:-) Nicklas Lundqvist replies: "I have updated Gautlars castle and might post it when I have the time. Apart from being a mage, he has has now also ventured into the wine producing industry. "
