I recently dug back into my old sketchbook from when I was about 12 years old...I found two characters I had created: Reaper and Bullet. I thought it could be fun to take those characters and redraw them now.
This is Reaper, the 'Bad Guy'. He's comes from a mix of incluences, firstly: there's a big Bane (from Batman) influence, with the mask and tube-things coming out of his head. I had this obsession with The Scarlet Spider back then, and since trendy ripped sleeves were 'in'... There also was this big scythe he used, which I blunted and made more brutal looking. He had these oh-so-cool floppy Robin-hood boots and This X-men style x on his chest (which i moved to the belt). I tweaked the design a little..I'm considering posting the original on here, for laughs...

Wow! Nice pencilling!! Have you tried inking it? Congrats on MC!

:-) Nicholas William Kole replies: "I've never tried inking. At least non-digitally...I wouldn't know where to start!"

Nice work, I like the contrast of this gigantic psychotic menace with a huge axe, and at the bottom there's a Jesus Fish. lol

:-) Nicholas William Kole replies: "Heh...and my mother worries...If I can't portay evil as evil and good as good truthfully than what good am I as an artist or a christian? And it just looks cool 2"

To me the "tube-things" look like horns, and I picture a skull underneath that mask.
It's very cool.

This picture is great! I love the detail, the shading, everything! I also like designing cartoon charaters. I am only 13 now, but I how to become as good as you are when I am 16! (The origianl sketch is great, too. Gave me a real laugh)

The one thing I can't do is take the work of another, and use it solely as in influence. This guy is totally wicked looking!
