| I was asked to write this in Honor of St. Patricks Day for the city's newspaper, And I think it turned out very well! |

Elvien lore played a role
Human myth has taken it's tole
Legends brought in myth and light
Settle in for a new one tonight
Long ago in a land unknown
Out of a clan an Elf was thrown
Looking scared and a little afraid
A new land he suddenly made
Only allowing outcasts like himself
Short in the legs, Not looking like an elf
Voices topped with accents unheard
Not being able to pronounce a single word
He took them in, kept the magick alive
And there they lived, in their hive
Until they were sought out by above
Sent to complete tasks of love
Soon they lost their elfish lore
Soon people didn't hate, they adore
These new people dressed the part
Always showing the kindness of their heart
On this special day each year
They made sure shed not was a single tear
Creating vast rainbows of color
Exchanging luck for a dollar
This money the kept to themselves
For still they were greedy elves
Till a group of humans came in
And named them the next of kin
With a new name they parade about
Set apart by hearts stout
Tall bowlers hats of luck
Large buckles to the shoes were stuck
Green clothes they were given
Into childrens minds they were driven
And now you know them on this day
As the Leperchauns of St. Patricks Day!
