||This is the very preliminary sketch to what I hope will be a beautiful picture when I'm done. The plan is to finish this in Prismacolor pencils when I am happy with the sketch. I think I am almost to that point. I had the inspiration to do a series of elementals, because everyone else is doing them. Yes- I'm jumping on the bandwagon. But not to be taken completely for a conformist- I wanted to add a twist. Each elemental will feature a woman of a different ethnicity. This one is Asian. Why Asian? Couldn't tell ya. I pictured someone with high cheekbones and porcelain skin with eyes that wouldn't be too soft for what I intend to do. I think she fits the bill perfectly. Water will probably be Latina, air will be caucasian, ice will be native american/eskimo, and earth will be black. I'm currently hunting for pictures to use as references since I need to know what to do in order to make them look distinctly original and ethnic. Want to submit a picture or find out more- email me. The plan is for this goddess to have firey glowing eyes, vibrant red hair, porcelain white/gray skin with deep red makeup, a rust-red dress and in her palm a little fire fairy. The original is a little too big to fit on this- but I am only posting to give the preliminary idea in hopes of some helpful criticism before I get TOO far finished with this. This is a very ambitious picture for me but she's been bugging me to be drawn for days now so I figured I better answer her! Please feel free to offer some critique. Thanks!|
