This picture is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done since it was fully made in alcoholic marker on an enamel painted surface meaning there was no possibility for a pencil sketch and no way mistakes could be erased. :S It shows my dark angel Kyria crashing into the wall because he's drunk and can't really fly that straight anymore. It was made on a guy's basement door , since he has made a second living room in his basement and wanted something funny painted on the door that combined his two favourite things in life: beer and metal music. Hence the pun on the Nightwish song Angels Fall First. I know this one has an awful lot of mistakes in it, but it's mainly meant to be funny so I hope that makes them a little more forgivable. Kyria is copyrighted to me. Don't steal.

The wings are really awesome! The detail in each feather is astounding. The proportions of the legs could have been better, but seeing as how you were drawing this on a particularly ’uncooperative’ surface, then I really can’t say you didn’t try your best. Well done!

:-) Nikki van de Pol replies: "Yeah, like I said in the description: problem one: you can’t erase alcoholic marker, so once a line is on there, you can just try to cover it up when it’s not all right but that’s about the best you can do. Also I didn’t have any xtra space so I kinda had to squeeze it in, and finally, he didn’t take the door out of its hinges for me to draw, so I was standin/sitting in front of it all the time, and it’s really hard to do proportions correctly when you’re not looking straight at it. But I’m glad you like the feathers that much, the lower parts of the wings especially were a real pain, literally, my back was ruined 12"

Love this!
Amazingly done...I’ve been looking for a reason why my roleplay characters- guardian angels- shouldn’t drink, I think you’ve helped me find it. Hehehe...Love this!

:-) Nikki van de Pol replies: "Thanks a lot! I’m glad you like it that much! And yeah, avoiding to bash into walls full speed *is* quite a good reason, isn’t it 12"

Angels Fall First..such a wonderful song, and a great picture to accompany it!

:-) Nikki van de Pol replies: "Hèhè thanks. First I just wanted Kyria to do something idiotic and came up with the drunk/bashing into the wall idea, but listening to Nightwish and since it was done for a fellow metalfan I started thinking, why not... The rest is history 14 Glad you like it."

Ok then, it’s commenting time! 1

Nice, I think this pic is really cool. I dunno what it is about it but It’s ... i dunno, lol I just like it. 2

:-) Nikki van de Pol replies: "It’s a character of mine that was adopted by a metal band as mascotte. One of the members has sort of decorated his basement as a second living room and wanted something funny on the door. Since the guy I’m talking about is notoriously drunk all the time (well, not *all* the time, but a lot 14), I figured it’d be fun to take the mascotte sort of crashing into the door in an equally drunk fashion. (btw, used the old form drunken, cause I bet Kyria’d get into the old-fashioned angelic bible language mode when drunk 14) As for ’drunken Angels Fall First’, just a pun on a well-known Nightwish song. Great you like it by the way! And thanks for commenting 1"
