"One last moment..." by Nikki van de Pol

This is my drow sorceress Irynaia. She's quite young still and has just finished her magical training in this pic. She'll be off to war for the first time in her life tomorrow, so that's what the title refers to. She's enjoying her last quiet peaceful time in her homeland, not sure if she'll ever see it back. Yet, she can't be completely unhappy about her situation, since she's fed up with being unable to do anything useful for her beloved ones. The large cat on her lap is called Asrai. It's a magical creature and the source of Irynaia's power. The cat is bound to her, and can't go on to exist if she should die. The other way round, Irynaia would survive but loose all of her magical powers.

The drawing was made entirely in graphite pencil, my favourite medium. I started it in 2008, but as usual, school came messing with my spare time, so I finished it August 2009. Hope you all like it. You'd best look at it in full view if you want to see all the details.  Irynaia and Asrai as characters are copyrighted to me, so please don't steal.
