I drew this back in my more satanic days when i learned that Satan is not a devil, or a body of evil ... it is only the body of people who simply do not believe in christ or his god ... Satan literally is jewish for 'The Accuser/Opposer' These 'non-believers' have been labeled to be Satan. That's all Satanism is really about ... it has no sacrificing animals and stealing babies or worshipping the deity of evil created by those who manufactured the current, popular religion. The name Satan gets blamed and crucified for things it is not truly associated with, without getting any chance to state his case ... he sacrifices his own good name to keep encouraging freedom of the mind ... pointed to by the evil finger from those who's fingers should really be pointing at themselves. So i thought this was an accurate portrayal of how i felt.

Satan (or Shai'tan as the original word is spoken). You have a point there, however there are some flaws in the translatory/theological arguments. The accuser I think first,or at least most importantly, can be found in the book of Job. The accuser can be seen either as a prosecutor serving God here or an enemy of the belief.

For anyone who wants to read about the falllen angel, that can be found in Isaiah... Not sure about which chapter though. The name Lucifer comes from the Greek translation in Alexandria of the Old Testament - Septuaginta - it can be found in Isaiah and has something to do with light [luz- duh!]. Although I'm not sure which chapters/verses exactly.

There many more names for objective evil in the Bible; but often the Bible is full of contradictions and e.g many names that people today refer to Satan - for example Belsebub (lord of the flies) might as well come from the concurrent religion in the area, Baal which had a snake as its symbol.

And yes I am a Christian, but a very openminded one. A forced belief is non-existent. Don't know if you're interested in hearing my jibberish, but I've got rather good knowledge at this stuff and found much in your point of views. Thank you for reading this far.

Thought we might as well get things straight if we're gonna discuss religion and stuff.

By the way, I like the picture strongly, a lot more so because of your explanation too. There's a depth in it that goes beyond the graphics.

I LOVE this picture! The shading and lighting are awesome and also the way it's eyes look... yeah... I actually happen to be a spiritual Satanist (not the kind made by Anton Szandor LaVey) and I believe that the origin of Satan goes back to mesopotamian times where the serpent god Enki seemed as a parallel to what satanists believe to be Satan. Actually a sort of ancient cult exists in Iraq that worship Enki and sometimes as a name sounding somewhat like "Satan." Our origins are actually quite fascinating once you get past the Christian dogma...Well to get of this crazy religious topic...Great Picture!

THE GROOVINESS!!! I've never seen that cross-hatching-esque style done like that, and I've never seen the subject portrayed exactly like that, either. Cuz Satan's often called Lucifer, and the name Lucifer means "Bringer of Light" or something. And I believe him to be just that.

I'm even writing my version of his story. It's about him learning the truth and waging war against God because he discovers what a vengeful, impulsive, and corrupt ruler God was. (Which I don't think the writers of the Bible were going for, but it kinda seems that way to me.)

Even though it's a "what-if" story and not really what I believe happened, I think I should post it on Elfwood or something, cuz I only know like 4 people who wouldn't stone me for blasphemy when they read it ^_^;

ACK! Enough about me! Silly selfish girl! *smacks self* Anywho, Keep up all the unique and kick-ass art you do! ^_^How odd that you say you're writing a story like that! That's almost the exact same story i was writing ... amd still in the middle of writing ... but haven't touched it in years, sadly ... about this wandering world where all the older gods like the Egyptian, Greek, Native American and all that brought their people alive on earth, then needed to leave for some reason ... and then this childish, bossy god roams by this earth and decides to take over and rule with tyranny and evil ... then all the original gods come back to "Bring Light" back into the world and create a human named Lucifer, who lives in life as a dedicated believer of the bossy god, just to die and infiltrate heaven to assasinate him, but then god casts him down into the abyss, and the other gods use their last strength to summon him into this beautiful underworld known as Hell, and he must try to keep people who die from going into god's slavery in heaven, to keep their freedom to go to Hell and live out their deaths in peace and happiness. There's some more to it, but you get the idea. Weird! And my opinion of it was also a "what if" story and that i don't really believe that ever happened, too.But yah ... heh ... long response.Thank you very much!

U are an excellent artist...But i think that this is a blaspheme picture...this is only my opinion...i hope that u aren’t angry with me now!2

:-) Nick P. ´LimeGreenSquid´ Marton replies: "Hehe, thank you very much, and it’s supposed to tear down the walls of hateful belief systems, so thanks for saying it’s blasphemous. Cuz that’s exactly what it’s for, hehe. "

ABSOLUTE BLASPHEMY!
Satan only wishes that he was the apple of the eye of every believer as he wants mankind to bow down to worship him only and not Jesus Christ!!

:-) Nick P. ´LimeGreenSquid´ Marton replies: "And a truly benevolent god would never demand worship of his followers, but for them to recognize peace and love as the best ways to live. Worship was invented by humans to control other humans. "

wow- th cross hatching done on a cross- coolio--- i love it... it definitely represents a lot of how you feel about the idea of religion- what i like about you isn’t you don’t look down on people who do believe as long as they aren’t trying to shove it down yours or anyone else’s throat...

i especially like the way the eyes and teeth stand stark against the background- it’s especially prominent when the picture is a thumbnail image- and very creepy 10

:-) Nick P. ´LimeGreenSquid´ Marton replies: "Thank you very much, i did have fun with this one. And that is the base of all the hatred and war and evil done today in the name of religion - none of them will accept that their religion is only an opinion, or a preference, and that other people follow different spiritual paths, no more or less right than each other. The day all religious people understand and accept that will be the end of many many pointless murders around the world. "
