This i was inspired by a few sources through my life. One of them was a wood-gnome creature - in an old computer game, i had once, called Quest For Glory 4: Shadows of Darkness set in and old Russian/Transilvanian town (I would love to have that game again, working properly) - and it was called a Domovoi. It was shaped like a regular person only as far as it did had arms and legs and torso, but had big feet like i included and a big nose and mustache and stuff. I also saw, somewhere while walking on a forest path, four branches reaching up like i included in the drawing. I immediately thought i should do a creature with branches like that coming from its back or its head ... This also feels influenced slightly by that guy who does those big books like 'Good Faeries and Bad Faeries' whose name escapes me. I also always envisioned him to be a long triangle ... so i added ears to his knee/ankles to complete the shape started by the nose.

Hey Squid, old friend. Long time didn't see.
You have a lot of new and great works. This is my favorite. He is just splendid and broomlike. As I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, a Domovoy is really close to my heart.Thank you very much. I'm glad SOMEbody knows what i'm talking about, hehe!

I wonder...Has anyone tought you how to draw like this? Not really. I mean, i got some basics during my grade 7 art class, but most of the rest of it is teaching myself from comic books or photographs.

Ah quest for glory. So wonderful. And 4 truly was the best. So here's what you do. You go get yourself DOSbox (entirely free) and install it. Then you install QG4. Then you open DOSbox and run QG4 through it. DOSbox will run it perfectly, just as you remember it, down to the very sound. And it won't crash. You'll be able to complete the game. As to the picture I find it.....intriguing.DOSbox, eh? Well, since i got my windows XP, and a downloadable patch, it seems to be working fine. But still not 100%, but no glitches anymore. Just some speed-based things that are still super-fast (like throwing rocks and fire bolts - can't see them in the air they're so fast!) My next fan art should be the Rusalka ...

Well, as long as things are working. And indeed, the Rusalka would be a most entertaining project I would imagine.
