"I got my tail back, i got my tail back!  *smooch smooch smooch smooch*  I got my tail back!!" Aura gleefully squeals.
"And i got my best friend back!!  YAY!!!  Oh, hi, hehe!" Fynna states as she realizes we're watching.

A few years ago, Aura was given the wish to have legs and feet, but found the experience above ground not to be all that appealing.  "It feels so heavy up there.  And dry!  You can't fly around and feel free up there like you can down here.  Everything feels weighed down and suffocating!"
So, she finally wished for her tail back. 

Fynna was so distraught over the potential loss of the greatest best friend she ever had in the whole wide ocean.  "I thought she'd forget about me and want to live among the two-foots on land forever.  That's why i am so super excited that my bestest best friend (and ... crush, hee hee) is back among the swimmers!!!  Oops, there she goes kissing her own tailfin again, tangling up my lucky pearls."

They were originally <i>unlucky</i> pearls as they were the last gift Aura gave to Fynna before she got her legs.  But one day, when Fynna was just swimming around with a heavy heart, they began to glow.   And when they glowed she felt a happiness deep inside of her that she couldn't understand, or get rid of.  "I felt guilty for feeling happy again, since i still was so depressed about losing Aura.  But they gave me such a tingle that i just <i>knew</i> something changed.  And then what do i see floating down behind me?  A big beautiful green tail, with my big beautiful girl!" 

"Guilty, as charged! *wink* I <i>will</i> miss feeling all the neat textures of the land on my bare feet, like stepping in soft, dewy grass, and squishing cold mud between my toes.  But being with Fynna in the open sea fills my heart more than any foot massage ever did!" 

"*pout*<i>Who</i> was massaging your feet?!?"

"Uhhh, hehe.  No one!  Gotta go!"

Chasing, giggling and frolicking ensues.

Enough story, hehe.  Well, this is it, the art trade i had going with "angeldess" from LiveJournal, that has been going for a while and i finally completed.  I had 2 poses in mind, so i ended up deciding to draw two mermaids! 
One, typical, red-headed mermaid with a green tail (i am so friggin' happy how her body turned out!!).  And one atypical mermaid with a tail inspired by one of my favorite characters by http://klar.deviantart.com, and neat tigery patterns inspired by http://pink-porcupine.deviantart.com, but then spun into my own little cute creation with purple skin! 

Obviously Aura is thinking how much she disliked having legs and feet and being above ground.  Whereas Fynna is thinking about how happy she is to have her lov- uh, best friend back!  (She doesn't know Aura's crush is as big as her own.)

I like fat girls with pubic hair and underarm hair, so shut up about that.  So, beyond that then, what do you think?
