Sakura, Goddess of Cherry Trees and Cherry Blossoms.

I wanted to do this Sakura for the month of April for the Calendar i am creating.  I had the vision of a cherry blossom tree woman, and here she is!  I'd also been wanting to draw a goddess with multiple arms, too, so that killed 2 birds with one stone!
After i smoothed out the graininess (which some people thought fit her skin texture) i now feel a lot better about her.  She doesn't look like an amateur trying to pass off the skin as being grainy bark, so to speak, hehe.  I can  say this is one of my favorite pieces.
Now, i don't know if those viney things (i think they may be called lichen?) would be hanging on a cherry tree's branches, but her arms looked bare and needed something so i added them.  I like how they look.
And i know her toe roots are WAY too thin to support her beautifully large figure, but i picture her to be slowly in the act of walking.  Slithering her toes and heels into, and out of, the shapes of roots as she lifts and lowers her wooden feet, both pulling and pushing her into and out of the earth.  If she were standing still, her green soles would be on the ground, and some of her toes dug into the earth for support, hehe.  But then what kinda fun foot pose is that to draw?  Right?  Right!

Heh, and as i look at her face, she somewhat looks like a cross from Sati (the little girl from The Matrix Revolutions - the shape of the face), and Mystique (from the X-Men movies - i think it's the eyes).

I hope you enjoy!

FIRST COMMENT!
I LOVE THIS PIC. But I especially love how you did her hair!Thank you very much! I am very proud of her, i am surprised she hasn't received more comments, though. But thank you for doing so!

First of all I'd like to say this is a very beautiful picture, but, there are a few little things that seem a little off to me...
1) She's a tree... I know she's a Goddess, but you did do a beautiful job making her look all wooden and natural, but.. her feet arn't touching the ground, I feel like it looses something, trees are strong and sturdy, but she's not rooted.. she's floating... and I think that takes away from the strentgh of the image.
2) Her body hair is same as the hair on her head, flowers, now well on people, hair is hair, it kind of looks unnatural to have little pink flowers growing out of a trees trunk, perhaps moss would have been a better choice. (not that it looks bad the way it is.. but perhaps this would have made it better.)

Just my two cents. Beautiful work, technique and subject.Thank you very much! Yah, i know the feet thing looks odd ... i thnk of her as in the process of walking, her toe-roots slithering in and out of the ground as she moves above it, rather than actually touching the ground, because if her feet DO touch the ground they will root down, and it will take an aweful lot of effort to get back out again if she doesn't like the spot she's settled in. And i get what you mean about the flowers vs. moss thing ... but i wanted to do it this way cuz yah, people tend to have the same color of body hair as on their head ... though often darker, but still. Hehe, i thought this would be a cuter idea to have the blossoms be the 'hair' all over. But again, thank you, it's nice to hear others' opinions and angles of thought.

Alright! (I apologize in advance for the longness)
This is the picture I'm going to comment on in response to ALL of your pictures!

Firstly, this one in particular struck a fanciful step because she is absolutely stunning. All wooden, and flowy. It's like the sky gods are yanking her flowery self out of the ground to put her in their heavenly vase. 2

Secondly, your entire gallery was just... absolutely wonderful. Really. As a lot of people have said, it is such a nICE, REFRESHING detour from the usual "perfect" "toned" bodies most of these elfwoodians seem to portray. There are so many fun pillowy curves and wiggles and shakes to be seen on these women! And they are hardly EVER shown. But in your gallery they roam free!

Thirdly, I'm sorry you must be the advocate for the pleasantly plump community! Haha. It really is a shame beafutiful images like these aren't around MORE. They add so much variety and color to the mix. Maybe, HOPEFULLY once getting a look at your gallery, more people will start drawing lovely images like these and you'll start a cultural phenomenon.

You really have inspired me to draw a few of these purdy puffs myself. 2

Thank you so much for sharing your art with all of us!
And thank your girlfriend for being the model on some of them as well. 2

Much happiness,
SaraPillowy curves and wiggles and shakes definitely make the most beautiful figures i've ever seen, so i love to draw them as well!! And i have had some people inspired to draw chubby girls from my art as well, and that makes me so happy cuz it is a wonderful feeling for an artist to inspire another artist! Please let me know if or when you post some of your bigger girls! I don't have a lot of time to even look at any other elfwood galleries due to this dial-up connection and a ton of other things i go and check, so i would love to see what you come up with!! Thank you very much again!
