Well, snowdrops used to sprout every spring around my childhood house. I lived my mother and grandmother back then-- it was the house my mother grew up in also. My grandma told me that the snow drops first showed up the spring after the death of my grandfather (whom I never met). After my mom and I moved out of that house the flowers began to spread a greater distance throughout the yard. About five years ago we had to remove my grandma from the house and into a nursing home. Well, one February I was in the area of the old house while visiting other family so I decided to drive by. The entire yard was covered in blooms poking their heads above the disappearing snow! The house is vacant now, but I'm sure the snowdrops will always be there, enduring as our memories do.Awww, snowdrops are just so simple, but they are so lovely! I can't remember if i mentioned it in the description but everyday to school years ago i passed this yard in the Springtime, and it was just FULL! Full of snowdrops all around this really thick-trunked gnarly-branched OLD and awesome looking tree ... it was amazing to see, and i regret i never got a picture of it before the stupid owners murdered the tree ... even though it looked like it was dead, it was still too beautiful to cut down, dammit! But the Snow Drops still grow there every year ... oh i wish i was back home THIS month when the blossoms are full to show my love ... here in Newfoundland, they don't HAVE snowdrops!!But anyway, thank you for sharing the story, hehe, and appreciating this piece! This one is close to my heart, too. | |
