| 14 Dec 2006 | Sarah | Loading...Well, I’m rapidly becoming a fan of your work and philosophy about portraying the female form, and I think this image has sealed the deal. The waffleness is absolutely amazing! I was thinking how her outfit is similarly styled to a traditional Russian dress, and that got me thinking of how she could be a character in The Nutcracker’s Land of Sweets. Besides this piece just being great on its own, I also really adore it because a long time ago (before I got lazy and used to sleeping in late) I used to diligently make waffles for breakfast on Sunday mornings. My dad was so proud, he started calling me the "waffle queen." Anyway, this is fabulous and you are so cool. All the best to you and your artistic endeavors! Nick P. 'LimeGreenSquid' Marton replies: "Hehe, why thank you very much, your Majesty, the Waffle Queen! I’m very happy you enjoy my work! Yes, the image of the ’ideal’ female form needs quite the change from what hollywood throws at us, and i’m here to offer the beautiful alternatives to the mind-slavery of the media. Plus i just like drawing beautiful fat girls in cute pin-up style pieces, hehe! It makes me most happy when it makes other girls feel good about themselves if they can see their own bodies in my imagery so that they realize that they are beautiful and desirable as well. And that is awesome to be able to link back to your own memories from my random waffle-girl, hehe!" | |
