Running for her life, hounds on her heels . . . Of all the sculptures I've done I'm most proud of this one. She isn't perfect, I'm not quite happy with her face or her hair but she was definitely a challenge for me. I'm very happy with how the texture of the log turned out. 10 inches tall she was sculpted with gray tinted Super Sculpey and painted with acrylics. Her costuming was done with doll hair, scrap fabric, and ribbon. The base is a plain pine plaque covered with floral moss with some silk flowers, pebbles, mini pine cones, and other odds and ends.

Amazing... Sorry there is nothing else to be said

That's amazing! I haven't gotten in to sculpting, but now I'm wondering if my stuff would ever have a cahnce of holding up to this. It's awesome! The movement is great, her expression is perfect, and the whole thing just screams what you're trying to get through, even if it was titled "Centaur doing something" with a description of "sculpted. i like it," everyone would be able to know what's going on. The lasso around her waist just seals it.

:-) Sheryl ´Noadi´ Westleigh replies: "Sculpting is wonderful stress relief, kneading the clay works out a lot of frustration, you really should give it a try. I've been sculpting quite a while when I started I was terrible and those works will never see the light of day again."

I love the impression of motion in this, the forward movement checked by the fleeting backward glance, and the implied narrative in the trailing broken rope. Well done. Do some more?

really, really beautiful. I like the centaur’s scared expression and position jumping over the log...I’m also extremely pleased that you didn’t make her topless or scantily clad! I’m so suprised this didn’t get a mod’s...
