"Ice Frog" by Sheryl ´Noadi´ Westleigh

This picture is a present for MsLilypond from Wetcanvas, she sent me a bunch of really nice watercolors and only asked for a painting in return. Since she likes fantasy and frogs and it's winter this is what I came up with. It's probably my best watercolor to date (it should be obvious that I'm still learning). The Ice Frog is a magical creature that lives in northern climates, it appears to be made completely of ice but is quite alive and hops around the winter landscape looking for snow fleas for dinner. No one knows where the ice frog came from but it's a reasonable theory that it was created to entertain the children of some sorcerer during the winter. Here you see the ellusive ice frog chilling out on a snow covered branch. Watercolor with touches of india ink on 5 3/4'x9' coldpress watercolor paper.
