It looks as if she's stretching at the beginning of a new day, full of energy to do all the things faeries so like to do, like dew collecting and mischief making The shading is great, as always in your drawings and the background is wonderful! And the eyes are perfectly suiting for a faery, I like them All the best *hugs* ~Anika Sherman Skip Nodler replies: "What a nice way to start off a sleepy Sunday morning and your vocabulary is not very limited. You always brighten my day. Time to sit daown and answer your letter. Skip"

(and that is a good thing, I know some people to offence to the word cute...) I absolutely love her face and I don't think the eyes are strange at all, they are wonderful! I like the pose too, I'm not sure why but it's great. I need to think of different things to say about your art but I seem stuck on great so I hope that's good enough Well, I'm off to enjoy the rain now. Hope you're having a wonderful day! Sherman Skip Nodler replies: "I think she's cute too. Glad you could stop by. Haven't seen rain for months. I hope the snow leaves before I see it here. Jump in a puddle for me;-) Skip"
| 30 Mar 2004 | Jay W.B. Hildybrant | Loading...Oh yes indeed, she looks fantastic Skip. I adore the composition, it looks as if she would be quite difficult to spot amongst the various flowers and leaves (the flower adds such a sunny ambiance to the drawing). Her blitheful positioning looks great, and it appears as if she is caught in the ecstasy that only the Faery folk truly know. I personally like the eyes, they give her a wild furtive look. This is really quite a special drawing Skip, Great job When you had mentioned this picture on my page I instantly recognized the anagram. Dance on little one, dance on! Sherman Skip Nodler replies: "I was sure you'd enjoy her. Skip" | |
| 18 Apr 2004 | Barbara J. Wickham | Loading...This picture radiates joy! The emotional content is superb. My only technical concern is that the depth can be pushed much more, darkening or lightening the background (your preference) so the subject in emphasized. This pretty fairy holds the attention in the mid-ground and the environment has a 'sunny/summer' feel to it so maybe darkening the foreground flora and washing out or blurring the background flower just a tad? I'm only going on gut instinct here. In regards to the fairy herself, I have no problem with her anatomy. In fact, with fantasy beings I personally like to see more exaggerated features. I'm a sucker for big feet and bigger noses! Either way this is a phenomenal piece. Sherman Skip Nodler replies: "Getting depth into backgrounds is the next step. I'm happy that it got a background.Skip" | |
| 11 Jun 2004 | Meike de Nooy | Loading...The eyes are good! I like the mischievousness to them! and they give it something unhuman! nice pose though I think there are some minor things that could be inmpoved on (breasts hips and right foot and maybe the arms too) But the composition is stunning, like said somewhere above it makes the picture radiate! And it looks soo sweet! Dancing between the flowerpetals what else can one whish for?! Sherman Skip Nodler replies: "Hi Meike, The portraits I do are near life size. If I'm off a pencil width in a line it's hardly noticed but drawing a full body on the same size paper is so much harder for me. I did lots off time refining her until I came to my frustration point and decided to move on.It's been awhile since I've dropped by you spot in the woods. I'll have to rectify that. Thanks for the visit.Skip" | |

Hope you don’t remove that draw of you and your friends because of age. You still have lots of room in your spot in the woods. Skip"
