SciFi and Fantasy Art Flirting with Death by Meike de Nooy

Well, hrm... I was actually inspired out of nothing as is usually the case. But now it was because I was picturing what I said. Can't really explain, but thought it was a nice idea to have someone not afraid of death but a combination of passion and playfullness and maybe longing, though the last one is very double...

Stupid me decided to experiment as I had never drawn a skeleton before and started sketching wildly on piece of A2 sketch paper, threw some watercolours on and went over it with chalk pastels. Maybe when I experiment I should use some proper paper because now it's all wobble because of the water and there are a lot of shadows that shouldn't have been there :(

I hope no one is offended because I've seen a lot of people get wildly uncontrollable about a little nudity. If that is the case, please look the other way, thankyou!

23 Jul 2005	Bloodhawk	Loading... Ugh, what IS Anonymous talking about? If this was a graphite sketch, yes, maybe, better detail would be recommendable. But I think this is fine, I really like the skull. pokes Anonymous with her poking stick. Hard. huff Annnnywho, I'm sorry about that. This is great piece of work, for something that started out so randomly - chalk and watercolour too! Who would've thought it...Great job! The skeleton is awesome! Meike de Nooy replies: "Great! 27 Jul 2006	Wendy f.	Loading... i love this! the positions are great, espesially the skeliton. its so realistic. I love how the girl is so lively and happy and then theres death, all black and white (and dead) and theyre in love. or something. I don;t know but it's amazing.

Meike de Nooy replies: "I think the skeleton needs a little more than some work but seeing as this was all one happy experiment more than 4 years ago, I'm just gonna leave it the way it is.
