People, I'm so proud! This is the first mermaid I've done in my life! And even though the scanner took some detail, (replaced by a better scan now)I still like it! I just decided that as all fantasy artist drew at least one of these, so should I. It took forever though... (colour pencils on A4)

Wow!!! This is beautiful! I really like the beams of light coming through and her face seems especially well done to me. I love seeing everyone's different interpretations of mermaids... great idea with the fins on her arms! The scales are so pretty and her tail fin.. *sigh*.. lol... Keep up the great work!!

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "I know! The variety of mermaids amazes me too! And the whole reason why i drew this picture was the lighteffects. I wanna ta try them so badly! (shhh don't tell)"

It's pictures like these I live for.

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Wow! that's pretty drastic! But you're welcome! I'm glad you like!"

Incredible! The way you made her arms into fins is unique. I haven't seen that on any other mermaid. I like how you put colorful scales on her face. I love the seahorse. Her tail looks amazing and you did a great job with the rays of sunlight. Love it!

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "I had always been wanting to draw a little seehorse fter I had seen them in Indonesia! And in compbinatioj with wanting to practice those rays this is what came out!"

Doggone Good! Glad to see an artist who is original like yourself. There are some excellent artists here at Elfwood , but there are also many who deal in trite, dungeons and dragons, MTV Generation typical anime cliches; I'm glad you aren't one of those people !

The colors and textures of the mermaid and her maritime attendants are otherworldly ! Keep up the excellent work !

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Thanks! I will try my utter best! I try to be original, but it becomes harder and harder! and trite??? never heard of it before!"

LUV the colors, they're so pretty. Love the tail, simple, yet still has that vibrant look to it. I wish that even half of the mermaid art ive seen turned out like this. Well done.
