Well I'll let the poerty explain (both © me)

As A child I was a wild, free spirit
Enjoying the sun, the wind and rain
My life was one of joys, not verdicts
Sucking in the information I could obtain

All people enjoyed equality
The African landscape was my home
Everything was new and special
Not like the now constant daily drone

A garden could be anything
From city hall, to stable
I loved to dance and run and jump
As long as I was able

The monsters under my bed were real
And so was my guardian angel
That was the time I could really feel
Right now, I am a stranger

I cannot as easily pretend
My house is a kingly castle
That rules apply, and I go bent
Under the daily hassle

They told me I could not walk on clouds
They told me thunder was dreary
I had to learn what life is really about
THIS world, not that of faery

But I have struggled and know better now
I’ve learned a couple of things
And I will try to show them all, how
Not all angels have need of wings…

25 Jun 2004	Nele	Loading... this is so touching. i love the picture, but the poem makes it even more special. the child's face seems familiar to me... and the baby goat (it is not a lamb... correct me if i'm wrong though...) adds beauty and fragilness. but the child's expression and its anklets caught my eye first wonderful job.
