Well, I wanted to practice colouring with colour pencils and decided to make a spirit of some sort.
In my imagination these creatures are always in motion; dancing, playing... I dunno, just my mind I suppose. So I decided to see how strange I could make a pose without it looking odd. I wanted her to look free, yet reserved. I realise she needs a background, but nothing that fit with her came to me.

And this is the result, tell me, how well/bad/wierd or whatever did I do?

I think you did a very good job, that's a good exercise to do. The waist does look a bit stretched, but overall, the figure has a stylized look to it, so it works anyway. You should look at pictures of modern dancers, they get in some really wierd poses. Check out Lois Greenfield's photography, ( www.loisgreenfield.com ) it's really inspirational. She photos people in poses that make this look easy.

I really like this picture, I found your artwork when I was looking for pictures of angels to have as tattoos. Then I found that you are a very talented artist and decided to comment. I haven't commented on any of the others, because, I don't know...... o_O But anyway I really like the shape of this picture, and the use of shading on the cheek is very realistic. She has an interesting expression on her face, I can't quite work out what she is thinking.. You are so talented, I wish I could get that much feeling into my pictures. Anyway I'll stop rambling and go... Bye x

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Rambles sutch as yours are very welcome and very mutch appreciated. I'm very thrilled you like the expression on her face because I often find them insufficient and I believe it is i=mportant to have realistic features/expressions. I hope you find your tattoo..."

helo0- the colors r pretty, and the drawing is prettier.. try inverting the colors to get a black background n i think the colors will turn into reds and pinks2 and ushud get a mods choice cuz this is awesome!

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Intresting though! I hope that the mods are a bit more pickey than that though 12 I'll see what happens..."

I think the background should be...Like she's flying/walking over water and it be at daybreak and have a seagull look like it's going to land on her hand or something like that. Anyway, I like this one, it's really nice! ~Bubbles~

lol... i inverted the colours as someone suggested and it looks awesome! the yellow highlights are bright, BRIGHT peacock blue, the girl's body is very very dark purple, and the shadows are canary yellow! its so cool!

anyway, about the actual pic- its fantastic! she looks as if she's just done something slightly naughty, but is running away and feeling slightly ashamed.

Her left(i think?) foot is very odd. Her right foot's point is good(from a ballet dancer's POV, lol), but the left is just impossible! anyways, great work, I love your entire gallery! definetly a fave!
