In making Thordar I used a strange material...aluminium foil. You know, the shiny thing in which chocolates are wrapped and every household has it (for preserving meat and other stuff). I was working with this since I was 10, taught by a book. Guy in the book made amazing things! Carriages, buildings...but over time I mastered that and I made so much figurines of it that I had to give them away to my friends. This is my first dragon, made for my boyfriend. Over time I learned to work with coloured pieces of aluminium foil and even made some colored dragons...but I`ll put them up later. Thordar turned out nicely for me and she took me quite some time - 3 months. Sometimes I just had no inspiration, while sometimes she was giving me a hard time with head or wings. I`d like to read your opinion about this material and if you`ve seen anybody else at Elfwood using it...thanks!

Incredible, you have my deepest and most well meant respect.
Now I just wondered, how much foil do you use for one sculpture?

Wowsers, I wish I saw this one when I was putting together my "Unusual Media" tour. I would have never thought of using aluminum foil for a sculpture. I might add this one if that's all right with you.

What an idea2!!! It looks great2!!! I've also used aluminium foil for crafts with kids, they love it and it really suits the work, but i've never thought of sculpturing it like that, it's such a good idea2!!! Well done2!!!

Wow! That’s so cool. I made a dragon out of foil once...it wasn’t very good, but i was really proud of the eyes. I found a green bead and put it inside the head, then cut eye shapes so you could see the bead...
I’m going to go find my foil...

that is totally original and i haven’t seen anything like it. i applaud you on yor skill at using this material; i’ve used tin foil on one of my spacecraft models-not to this extent though, and i know how tricky it is to use. well done.

That’s pretty darn awesome, I gotta say. ^.^ Never seen anyone else use aluminum foil that way but it’s nice to see something new.

I really, really like this!!! the fact that the foil reflects the colours around it is best about it, i think.
