A piece of graphic art (aquatinta) I did several years ago. Although it is old, I think this one's still effective.
What do you think this is about?

It reminds me of the scene in one of Terry Pratchets diskworld novels. In one of them Death visits the deepest ocean in order to end the life of a single small sea lily. He then stops to wonder why "life" saw fit to make it deep red in colour an then stick it in the darkest place on the Disk. Anyway, i like the mood of the scene.

I love the look to it, Well drawn.
It looks like its underwater, and he just found life. The flower.
I don't know how to explain most of what i'm thinking, but its a lovely piece of art that would keep your mind going for a while. 2

maybe...maybe it's like the opposite of the Grim Reaper - he gives life instead of takes. Maybe he's, like...a dead warrior (and steed) who doesn't want others to go the same way as him (meaning death)......
oh i dunno, this doesn't even make sense!!! *stumbles away mumbling*

Wow, I really love that one! I have started to learn graphic printing and I know how much work is involved in an aquatinta plate.
The composition of horse and rider is perfect. Especially the starved horse comes out very well.

My first guess is also Terry Prattchett's Death in the deeps of the ocean, musing over a small creature. Some things do not fit exactly to Prattchetts description, but I guess this is a free interpretation of that scene.

Or maybe he is smiling and is absorbing the flowers beauty which is shown by how the background is black.

To me it does seem like the pic is of the realm of the dead, but i dont think the skeleton thingy is spreading the realm its more like he is doomed to ride in a dark world were there is no light, however the poor skeleton has come across a very strange discovery which is a beautiful flower radiating its own light in such a dark world. The way his hand and fingers are possed shows to me that he is being comforted by the light and putting his hand over it as if it is warmth in such a cold place. i think the expression on his face is hopeless though.
