Sleipnir as an ordinary horse.
I wanted to see how I can make eight legs work in action. I also wanted to make it look real.

Water colours and coloured pencils on light brown cardboard, 17 x 24 cm.

Oh my god.. This is so beautiful. The unicorn looks so real.. Amazing, overwhelming.. I don't have the words..

:-) Johanna Iso-Järvenpää replies: "Thanks, Liz. Of course, this isn't really a unicorn, but who cares. In fackt, there really isn't a word for a creature like this."

Nice use of colours 2
The front legs looks to be working, but the 2 back legs...when he'd be standing on all 8 legs the 2 back ones look like they wouldn't touch the ground. Aside from that little detail I think it's a good picture

This is one of the few 'Sleipners" that is worthy of mention. Not many artists out there can seem to get it right but you managed to do an exemplary job..bravo

I like how his front legs look like, but the backmost pair of legs looks too short. I feel like once he lands on all "fours" again, the backmost legs will rise off the ground, leaving them dangling. Did that make sense?

14 Johanna Iso-Järvenpää replies: "*tries to imagine Sleipnir on six legs, two more hanging from behind* Argh. I just hope it won't go that way. "

Reading nordic myths referring to odin's horse always made me wonder what sleipnir would look like...Wow! My vision of him was much more bizarre...Love your work, and thanks for the comment!
