A coral mare labors long into the dusk until a filly born on October night that shines with a rainbow on a coat of white.

Another pair that I use in an RPG. Almase with her young filly Opal.

I know there are some problems with proportion and shape - I'm currently working on a new version. I do like the way the background came out though.

After looking at some of your pictures I came to the conclusion that you're very good at drawing horses 2 But there's just one thing with this pic that looks a bit off, and that's the mare's neck, horse's necks don't begin on top of the shoulder-blades, but between them, sort of... So I suggest you should lower the whole neck and maybe, lengthen it a bit... I hope this made some sense (I'm useless on English)

*goes all squishy and googly eyed* Awwww! I adore foals!!!! I agree with Hedvig, the neck needs to be lowered and lengthened, but its a beautiful pic all the same ^^;;.

Lovely pic!! I love the colors you used on the mother. I always loved fushcia colors with orangey colors (i think cause it reminds me of dunkin donuts. yummy coffee....)
But yea it's very pretty!
You are very good at making funky colors look perfectly natural and realistic on your horses!

1 Stacey 'Nari Jauhara' Ooms replies: "Thanks so much for the kind words! I like mixing colours that don't usually look like they would work together and seeing what I come up with - with Almase I was very pleased!"

I'm sorry! -grovels- I've not forgotten about you!! >_> Do you remember me? If not, you were the 100th commenter on my gallery, and because of that, I told you I would draw you something, sign it, and make it just for you ^^ Well, I know it has been a while, but I just thought I would let you know, the piece is right beside my keyboard, well on it's way to being finished. It sort of reminds me of this picture here -points up- Kind of looks like Opal, though I didn't realize it until I had already done it...-blinks- Oh well. It has some...unique qualities...I'll keep in touch.

As far as this piece goes, I still like the filly's coat. I love to look at bubbles and the inside of a shell I have because of the shiny swirl of colors, and for the same reasons I like the filly's coat. Almase is a very beautiful creature as well. The purple mane and tan coat are not something I would think of as going well together, but they do work nicely here I think. The background is nice too. I like the foggy, blurred look. Very nice job!
