"The Green Mother" by Stacey ´Nari Jauhara´ Ooms

A lost and weary traveler in an enchanted wood. Little knowing the magic that occurs when night falls.

Surrounded by darkness and shadow, the traveler sees, in the distance, a ring of lilies over which a cluster of fireflies dance.

A soft whisper of a distant and ethereal song filters through the trees as the traveler is swept up in its otherworldly melody. Spinning, swirling, dancing to the mystical rhythm of those haunting stains.

Consciousness slips from a worn and weary mind to pleasant shadows and wispy shades of muted gold's and greens.

When the traveler is roused it is to the sound of a melodious voice raised in singular song, to which even the night birds and crickets hold silent in respect.

Within a shallow corpse of trees, where that lily ring is formed, a figure stands, with iridescent dragonfly wings spread and heavenly voice raised in sweet and soothing song.

Her eyes fall upon that same lost traveler and a warm and maternal smile parts her lips. Four golden glowing stars surround her as tendrils from her wings. Extending a gentle hand, she murmurs, in a voice soft as evening's wind.

"Welcome, dear friend, and be not afraid. For you, too, are a child of The Green Mother."
