I love the jewelry you've bedecked him in! It adds a very nice touch.

I'm going to give some CC ('cause I always try to be helpful), but I'm not exactly a horse expert, so no doubt I'll say some stuff that might be totally off the mark. Firstly, I think his head looks a touch small, in comparison to the rest of his body. Also, if I'm not mistaken, you've drawn him with cloven hooves, but I think horses are one of the few hooved animals that don't have cloven hooves. And finally, some more contrast in this would make it quite a bit more stunning. You got a start on it with the back leg, but if you made the darker spots even darker, it would really make the whole figure just kind of pop.

With those extra touches, this would be really amazing. Keep drawing and practicing!

1 Stacey 'Nari Jauhara' Ooms replies: "Thanks kindly for the comment CC! Well, they say the clothes make the man, here the jewels make the Prince! His head may be a TAD bit small for his frame, but it is an older piece of mine. Unicorns, traditionally, have cloven hooves, which is why he was depicted in that manner. As to the contrast - unfortunately the scanner tends to rob a LOT of detail from pieces.

This was origianally intended to be a part in a series of 'Royal' Unicorns. I may revive the line if I get prodded enough! *grin* Thanks for the comment!"

Great picture! I also believe that unicorns had cloven hooves.I just wanted to say a couple of thing. He needs a wider stomach and wider back leg bases he looks skinny. I also love the jewelry!

Thought I'd pop over here and check your gallery out!
I really enjoyed this piece alot. One of the great things about drawing fantasy is that you can do it however you want. ;-)
Westerners see a unicorn as a horse like creature with a spiral horn- while others see a unicorn as a goat like creature with cloven hooves- Lady Amalthea wasnt just a Peter S Beagley character- She was the goat that cared for the baby Zeus- He broke her horn off- then she had a single horn- 1
Do keep up the great work- Horses are one of the hardest animals to draw- even the pros know so, lol.

I didnt see this one last time - you get an update in without telling me?! I like him, though, very slender and prince-like.
