| 18 Nov 2000 | John Teall | Loading...yes this does look painful in a way - since every thought, value, action and belif has consiquences, good, bad and inbetween - to a considerable digree we create our reality - though more statisticaly then linearly and more collectively then individualy - well what is collectively but the arithmatic mean of our individual values - reality is diversity - of course there are warts - but that isn't the begining nor the ending of anything - obviously (or perhaps not so obviously) if we try to ignore our surroundings they can and will bite us - in reality i see only one dark force and that is the aggressiveness of gratuitous conventionality - certainly there seems to be no shortage of it - but we need not nourish it by romantacizing and rewarding it - nor by arbitrarily scapegoating anything - i'm not even saying that anyone is doing anything 'bad' - its just this business of everyone telling each other to blind themselves for every immaginable and unimaginable reason - when that is the last thing any of us needs and we are all both individualy and collectively paying the price for ... ~  | |
