Even though using flat colors should make the picture look flat, you've used lots of different-colored details (like the floating rubble, lines on the trousers and cloak, etc) to add depth. There's lots of cat furries out there, (cats are graceful, sexy, slinky animals), but not many cows. You've made a tough-looking, sexy cow here. I like that she's always chewing on the hay. And the other characters are interesting, too. Also, I like the way you've done that human-looking building in back. Charles-Emmanuel Ouellette replies: "Glad you liked the pic, and happy you spotted the effect used in flat color to bring dept. It's quite simple, but there are many tricks that can give much life to a pic with color. Just in here, notice that the characters are all in cold color, and the background is in warmer ones. It help define them. The background lines are also thinner and lighter. As for Cika the cow character, where not many indeed, in here or anywhere, to do furry cow. Vanessa Cox also do some great furry cow in the woods http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/v/a/vanessaann/. I first found doing a sexy cow was a funny idea, and I loved the pattern it allowed to make on her skin. Incidally, «Cika» and «Holstein» are both catter brand name. Finally, for the building, I draw them taking my break at the job and at a cafe, both located in the old Montreal, where there's real nice buiding in here, part British, part American, part French... The one shaped like a one-eyed idol came at last, as I found the whole pic needed a little more of surnatural spice! I also have a look at your gallery, you have real neat little space pinup in here! Keep on!" | |
