*YAY Does first comment dance* that was fun WOW your stuff is great. how did you get into the animation industry i wanna know plz tell me oo great person!! Charles-Emmanuel Ouellette replies: "Glad you like. There some more stuff in my Sci-Fi and Fantasy gallery as well. As for the animation field, well, a few years ago happened a little animation golden age in Montreal, as Canada is the real cheap labor of the Animation and Video game business. Everyone I knew you draw and animated worked on the animation or Video games business. So I naturally got a job in this field as I finished CEGEP (Quebec equivalent of College, which offers some Profession-oriented course. For myself I studied graphic arts). Anyway, I think European studios do rather well these days, as there been a general downing of the animation field a few years ago. Try to study in Animation if you find a proper program, and work your drawing as much as you can. Try to get Preston Blair «Animation made easy» book, which is a very good basic of animation, and can be easily found in most art supplies stores. Try other mediums, styles and techniques. Don’t restrain yourself to only one style. Manga is great and you do it well, but try as much style as you like. And most important, have fun when you draw! Contact me if you have any more question, I’ll be very happy to answer. "
Wow, I really admire your talent and your style. *sigh* Perhaps someday I'll be honest with myself and decide that I really want to declare an art major so I can hone my technique, which has grown considerably stagnant. It has been a privilege to tour your gallery. Great work! Charles-Emmanuel Ouellette replies: "Thanks for the comment, it’s really appreciated. As for following courses, you don’t necessarily to follow school course to improve. School is nice but can be expensive and time consuming if it’s not the job you want to do (if it is, then go on!). There also many books out there which can help a lot. Personally «How to draw comics the marvel way» helped me a lot to ad more vitality and interesting perspectives and point of view in my work. I also hang on on a comic strip after school course since 1995, it allows me to meet peoples and get some drive. The social aspect is real important sometimes! Just like here, in Elfwood, as I think! Anyway, I’ll drop at your gallery; I’ve seen pretty good work out there…"
Wow Charles you are a talent, I am amazed at the style and perfect lines you have, you are a pro looking artist, I am really happy to see someone so grand here at elfwood! You inspire me to do better! Charles-Emmanuel Ouellette replies: "Glad to be of some inspiration. As for my line work, I always liked inking and work a lot with brushes; it helps create interesting lines and volumes. On your part, the color work on your picture, coupled with your lovely nymph, make a real nice and personal visual world. "

Allo Bonhomme! Johane Matte here, on a running marathon through all the galleries of Elfwood's Fanquarters. Thought I'd stop by, say hello and also say "Whoa! Nice stuff." Let me tell you: if there ever was a Micronauts collectors card set in the making, I would want you to do all the illustrations. Very nice, thick ink line, very graphic. And the colors? Got that retro feel to them. Good for the subject. Me like!
