| 6 Jan 2005 | Jindar | Loading...Water Dragon? Ahem: The physical and genetic assets and properties of the draconic racial groups are many very specific and usually no two racial groups bear more than ten common assets. Multiple heads, wings, arms, tail, build are only some of the hundreds of characteristics bourn by a draconic creature such as a dragon. The subspecies classifications are Wyrm, Drake, Wyvern, Hydra, Dragon, Serpent, Terror, and Worm. You claim that the image you have done is a dragon, yet it lacks some genetic and physical traits required by the general family of dragonkind. Since the beast you display is aquatic, possibly amphibious the only way it can be a dragon is if it has wings. The monster shown lacks wings, which are mandatory. All members of dragonkind must also have non-serpentine bodies, and god, NO FINS. The depicted monster clearly lacks infernaresperatipon glands and excessive scale density. The frills are too small to be a dragon and the horns are non-existant! The monster you have depicted is a Drake, the most species most commonly mistaken for a dragon. I would suggest renaming it to suit technical needs. | |

Therefor, wings are not mandatory. What a jerk. Christy, you've got an awesome gallery. Love the colors, and textures. You've got wonderful talent. Keep up the excellent work! | |

If fantasy art has to conform to set rules of what makes a dragon a dragon then it takes the fun out of making up new beasties. I think your water dragon is very cool and I would just like to add that all your work looks good in both the thumb nails and in the larger sizes. Clean lines and vibrant colors really make them pop.
