My heritage and religion is important to me. I love all sorts of music. I dabble in drawing but I don't enjoy it as much. Movies influence me a lot. I speak three languages and hope to learn Welsh one day.
So lately I've been pretty busy sorting out LIfe, applying to universities, etc. I've taken a break from a Murder of Crows (a novel, the first 10 chapters are posted here) with intentions to rethink things/make some much-needed edits. I've decided to expand horizons and all that good stuff and have lately been writing some short stories, most of which are just plain wierd. I'm also undecided as to whether I'm going to post more Murder of Crows when the said edits are made because someday I hope to get it published. Thanks to all you who have stuck with me this far (10 chapters is quite a long read, and your concrit is marvellous...you know who you are). I'm not big-headed or unrealistic; I know I would have eons of work to do before even thinking of submitting it anywhere, and there's already the issue that a rough draft has already been posted on the Internet (here). Regardless of all that, tis very personal and close to my heart and I nurture this wild hope of publishing. Everybody needs dreams. Eh, that's about it. Expect some more random short stories soon.
Since my interests etc. won't show for some reason I'm going to write them below.

How comes the writing? I keep getting distracted by Shiny Ideas. Most of which will never get written out, alas. James P-W replies: "yes summer began a few days ago : ) I haven't been here in a while (exams and the such). I have three chapitres 95% finished (minor revisions needed still). ALas, I have 3 short story ideas as well and I'd like to do them (I need practice with short stories), but I also have the next 15 or so (!) chapters of Murder of Crows planned as well and I'd like to get going with them. How goes your writing? "

How has life been treating you? *was swallowed by a wave of Yay then Meh then Real Life reasserted itself and she got sidetracked* Running around using the new features of Elfwood now. They'll take some getting used to for sure. How comes the revisitation of the novel? Me? Well, I've put W&W on definite hold now while I go figure out what the problem is. Preferably without the question making me spastic and claustrophobic. (That would be why I stopped writing it.) I'm currently mired in a weird story about fairy cats. I've been to Wales, actually, which resulted in a few short stories not on Elfwood and a chapter rewrite (also not on Elfwood; I'm noticing a theme here...) It was Gorgeous. It was also one of the most brilliant vacations I've had. I got to meet several of my Elfwood friends in real life because of it. Ei! It was so lovely. I'm hoping that once I settle into the new university routine I'll be more inclined to reading non-Cecily writing again. (*want. descriptive. talent. NOW*) And I'm burbling now, so I'll shut up and just go on scribbling before the fairy cats decide they want to be eating me instead of my poor Sam. He's got a torch. I've got nothing. James P-W replies: "ello, haven't heard from you in a while. more w&w! I actually have done no writing in the past couple of months; had the inspiration but not the effort...not too good...I'm so glad you liked Wales! the fairy cats sound very original. "

I've done... almost nothing since August. (Well, mid-September actually) But since I'm swamped in essay writing, this seems bound to change for the better, if not exactly being creative. James P-W replies: "writing goes well, no rewriting yet. good luck with the essays! "

On the topic of recommendations, have I yet recommended Becca's Dark Horses and Still Waters, both of which feature kelpies? I think I did. I forget. Good stories either way, though, and deserve to be recommended. And Jenna's Such a Sleep, which is Arthurian legend based. *nods* How be you? *avoiding her coursework, ;avoiding/i>; it, I say!* What was that which I read about inspiration striking? That's lovely news. ^-^ I should really do my coursework so I can get back to the important things, like writing. ^-~ I do have story wheels churning, but they're all beyond my grasp. Don't know why. I think it's a sign that I should be working on the poetry present I started and get some work on that done... I've just had a friend visit me for Christmas, so I've been traipsing around the country a lot and visiting touristy things. 'twas good, but busy and odd to be in charge. *waves* I go now to do things like do coursework to avoid the doing of coursework... Hope you're having a wonderful time, had a good holiday and may the years end and start well! James P-W replies: "Arthurian-based? *gobbles up* urgh for coursework...wheels churning are good. and even when you can't grasp them I find that they find ways of communicating themselves to you (while listening to music, viewing scenery, sleeping, or just pondering, my murky ideas often just suddenly make themselves obvious a few weeks/months later). never fear! good luck with all your work.
