When heroes begin the undertaking of an epic journey, they hope that at its conclusion to find rest. After saving the world from yet another nefarious or even apocalyptic scheme, the heroes pray that their work is done. However, not all heroes earn the luxury to prop their feet up and enjoy a relaxing pipe. As these four warriors start on their heroic quest, little do they realize this will not be their final journey. Within their lifetime, they will hear the call of yet another fantasy they must fulfill.

It is very much based on the opening cinematic from the Final Fantasy game. My brother played that game in 1987, and described the opening shot as the perfect adventure shot. A group of heroes looking forward to their epic adventure, unaware of the challenges to come.

I still remember him describing that in 1987 when I was only 8. So when I started playing with pastels a few months ago, I figured what a great practice drawing. It has a good sense of story, a nice blending of colors, and a little figurative stuff too.

Anyway, my point is that I do not hide the fact that it was inspired by the screenshot. Hence why the title hints at it as well.

And that's exactly how it should be. A very grand and inspiring picture, it's the vast amount of open sky that does it.

When i saw this, i got that weird, light, amaszing feeling in my chest, like when you see the snowcovered forrest in the winter or a beautifull sunrise or when a full moon comes out from the clouds.
This is beautifull!

It's so beautiful and I love the silhouettes of the warriors and the birds flying by. Truly an awesome panoramic-like picture. Awesome job! ^-^

That looks SO wonderful...mmm...perhaps heroes do not get to rest after their first conquest, but they do get to see plenty of things that those who rest don't, and vice versa. Anywho, I really love the calming sense of this picture. I feel like I could bask in it for hours 2
