Pearl A Hodges

Good day to you! As you can see, I am Pearl Hodges. I'm a twenty three year old costume designer and builder with a Degree from the University of Califorina, Santa Cruz, in theater arts (although I do other theater work professionaly as well). Anyways, here at Elfwood, you'll find sketches, unwished works, and older works of mine.  I like to use elfwood as a log of where I have come from in my art, in relation to fantasy and sci-fi. If you go to the links in the sidebar, at my homepage (Featherwurm Graphics) you'll find more finished works and current works (most of which verges on abstract or surreal), along with more sketches and some other interesting things. If you go to my 'private gallery' (Epilogue) you'll find the very best of my finished science fiction and fantasy works. As you can see, I enjoy working in many mediums, although two of my favorites are watercolor and colored pencil. However I'm willing to try anything once, as you can probably see. I also enjoy sculpting whenever I get the chance, some of the results of which you'll see here. I draw many things, but dragons and other monsters are some of my favorite subjects, again though, I don’t like to limit myself to anything, and as you can see, I draw plenty of elves, heroes, half-humans, and so on. When it comes to science fiction, I like to illustrate my own brand of mechanical animals and urban fantasy scenes, along with other things. I hope you enjoy the works you see here, please feel free to leave comments, I enjoy them very much, and I do like creative criticism, so if you see something you feel needs improvement please don’t hesitate to mention it, although as most of this work is old, it may have already been improved on on later imgages (as you may see). As you can see I have included the dates at which these various pieces here were completed, to try to show how my work has developed over the years.
