She cries because she knows what will happen to her children in the distant future.

Inspired by Jean Auel's "Earth Children" series.  One of a few ideas that came to mind as I read about how they viewed their Earth Goddess.

9x11in watered down acrylics (not watercolors, it was acrylic paint + a LOT of water)

You should be very proud. It is a really rather stunning piece. I love jean auel's books and i think you've done them justice. Was this inspired by the song? I don't remember. I've read books one and five so i need to read the others, but the style of this piece is very much fitting, simple and uncomplicated yet stunning and beautiful. Again i say well done and congrats on the mod pick

I also love those books... I've read three of them. This is beautiful, by the way. Haunting, mesmerizing, and full of emotion.

I've read Auel's series, and want to say that the second I saw your picture, I thought of her books. ^.^ Wonderful depiction. Just perfect.

Yes that is odd, you must tell the rest of us how you managed to flamer-proof your gallery ;o) Knock on wood...

This is cool, very surreal...I've never read those books, but I might have to start after seeing this 19) This is very unique, beautiful and sad...As for her unusual body shape (well, unusual by Elfwood standards, not unusual at all in real life), I know from experience that such body types are much more difficult to draw than the basketball-breasted toothpicks you usually see around here ;o) Very nice picture 19)

decrepid mother earth is a woman once fat and now withered with all the loose skin and baggs. Great series I must agree. The immage is hart renching, lonely and loathsome at the same time. Loathsome as we our ancestors will feel toward us when we have succeded in destroying all native life.
